QANTAS Announces Daily Return Flights Brisbane-Whitsundays

QANTAS will be introducing daily return flights between Brisbane and The Whitsundays. It has been more than 20 years since the Whitsunday Coast Airport (WCA) welcomed the national carrier, but with international borders still largely closed, this deal was necessary to boost the business and tourism sector.

The Whitsundays has been named the most tourism reliant region in Queensland, with 20.7% of The Whitsundays gross regional product coming from the tourism industry in 2019-20. The WSY 2019/20 Regional Tourism Satellite Accounts has found that 1 in 3 jobs in The Whitsundays is in the tourism industry, and majority of the tourism consumption in The Whitsundays has come from domestic travel across Australia in 2019/2020.
